Americo System, Onboard the Akillian

As the last of the UNSC ships arrived in the system, Jake started to get a little worried. He had acted as President for the past few days and all had been going well until last night the new slipspace monitoring station deteced a large UNSC fleet approaching Americo and this morning he it confirmed. As he knew FLEETCOM would never have send such a large fleet for a military action he wasn't worry about any attack or anything, no. What did concern him was that Lord Hood's flagship was the flagship of this fleet. He had never actually met the man but he did knew his record and he had heard stories of the great Lord Hood. Maybe he was here to relieve him. Or worse, maybe someone got a message out on how he left his ship to save his own life without trying to help anyone else. He'd surely get executed if that were the case. It had been seven days since the battle with the Covenant and fortunatly they hadn't been seen or heard off since. In that time he had gotten the late Admiral Wilkinson's room and turned it into his own. He had held a speech on how he had saved the planet from the Covenant and held a memorial for those who had died protecting it. He had been acting President and the people of Americo had liked him. After the memorial and the speech that brought a tear to your eye if you heard it a small group formed that wanted Jake as a perminant President, or for him to at least run for President if there were to be elections. And in the following six days that small group had grown to, according to a research, covered almost the entire population. Jake had himself portraited as the man that had sacrifised everything he had to save all the civilians of this planet and they all had bought it. The pilot that had taken him off the Hyperion before it's destruction had an "accident" and broke his neck when he slipped over some spilled tea. As it was an easy case no further investigation was needed. There was a short knock on Jake's door and a short man in his uniform entered Jake’s chamber accompagnied by a younger guy, also in a Navy suit. "Lord Hood, it's an honor to meet you, I've heard so much about you." "Thank you son, I've heard a lot about you too. I’d also like for you to meet my Executive Officer, Jacob Litofsky." “Nice to meet you too, sir.” Jake said. A small smile appeared on the man's face. "Son, I've got some good news for you. FLEETCOM is proud at you for doing what you did, I can understand it musn't been easy for you being the only survivor of the attack. FLEETCOM is therefor willing to let you remain Governor of Americo, as under UNSC law there is no position of President, if you're interrested. Americo then truely would be a UNSC colony though, and it would fall under the UNSC laws and FLEETCOM duristiction, you would however, still run the show here. What do you think son? Are you up for the job? Or do you think it'd be too much power to handle?" Jake smiled and said: "Thank you, sir. I'll do my best for the UNSC. And I'm sure I can handle the power, sir. I've managed so far. But thanks for the concern. As a UNSC world, I guess I am allowed to construct more orbital defence platforms though, right? And what about a defence fleet?" Jake's mind was now wondering if the UNSC could handle all that power. The control of all those worlds. Wouldn't it be best if multiple people would control them? People like him ...
